Navigating cancer as a (young) salon leader with Sarah Hooper
Q: 16 months ago, you got this diagnosis. What was your initial reaction in terms of focus on personal life first, of course, and then work after?
Her initial reaction was to describe the experience as surreal and a sprint to manage the upcoming scans and appointments, with a shift toward leaning on supportive people and planning a clear path forward.
What the heck are shareholders? Your people, your legacy with Lisa Lipani
Q: What advice do you have for someone that is thinking about exploring, taking on shareholders? What are some things that you wish you would have known now, but that you wish you would have known in those early stages?
Don't do it alone; work with a coach and carefully select the people you want at the table. Understand your personal runway and what you want out of the program, as shareholding looks different for every leader. Start by gradually assigning responsibilities and exposing potential future shareholders to leadership tasks to test fit before committing fully.
Leveling Up with Kacie Mundell
Q: If you could have a billboard in Times Square, what would it say?
Love yourself and stop apologizing for yourself; encourage self-acceptance among clients.
