I hate podcasts but I love this one and that is saying something
A collection of investigations that lift the covers on corners of everyday (and not so everyday) life, Joel never fails to convey a sense of wonderment and a un-quelchable (not a word!) curiosity that is infectious. Highly recommended!
Don’t let the math scare you away. Sum of all parts is wonderfully entertaining for all audiences and shows the endless way that numbers in all their forms infiltrate our lives: from music to phone numbers to the metric system.
I first heard of Sum of All Parts via Roman Mars and it seemed very interesting. However, I played the first 20 seconds of the first 5 episodes and every. single. one of them contained overpowering music that totally drowned out the speaker. If I wanted music, I'd go listen to SoundCloud or Spotify. I listen to podcasts not for the music, but for the SPOKEN content. Despite the interesting topics, I found the irrelevant music and sound effects just too annoying and distracting to continue.
Definitely enjoy the episodes that Joel produces himself as SOAP but he also just takes episodes of other podcasts to fill out his seasons which I’m not too keen on. While I definitely appreciate the recommendations for those episodes, I want to listen to Joel’s Sum of All Parts rather than a random episode of someone else’s podcast. That’s my two cents.
