Classic premise, well-executed. The music is the star of the show, the creators didn't hire musicians, they ARE musicians and it really shows. The music is great, and getting small vignettes of the music industry through the decades works really well.
This type of storytelling works for a journalist. I can tell what they are going for, but it just doesn’t land with a fictional story. Each time I am enjoying the story Fred Savage pops in with “it’s not just their story it’s OURS.” I got through 1 1/2 episodes and the quoted was said more than 5 times. Maybe it’s just not for me.
This is my first fictional podcast and I LOVE IT! What a captivating story. It is such a unique concept that is compelling me to WANT MORE! more
Wow! I loved this! Why is this not #1 on every podcast list! Sooo good!
This podcast is an incredible accomplishment. It traces the history of popular music, from honky-tonk to Motown to heavy metal, weaving a compelling storyline throughout. It features stunning original music that makes me truly appreciate genres I never really even listened to before. All of the performances are stellar, the storyline is incredible, and it’s completely professionally produced. Tom Marshall and all involved ought to be enormously proud of their work here. Well done!
