Steve’s podcasts are always super insightful! I travel around the UK for work and if there’s a new pod out you can guarantee I’ll have learned something useful by the time I get somewhere. Hell, one of the episodes sent me on a journey to be diagnosed ADHD! Incredible guests from the world of magic and performing
Steve has a fantastic conversational way of interviewing guests and getting amazing answers out of them without seemingly sticking to a traditional interview format. This makes for a hugely enjoyable listen and the informal nature of the conversations leads to fascinating and unexpected insights into both the guests, performance and magic/mentalism in general. Highly recommended.
Always enjoyable. If you like discussions about creativity and performance in magic then given this a listen.
I’ve followed Steve’s YouTube channel for a few years. It’s always honest, real and informative look at new magic. He consistently looks at books and products with a performer’s eye. I was happy and surprised that he started a podcast.
My only bit of feedback is that the interviews are way too long and rambling. Tighter would be much better and easier to finish. The interviews have nuggets to offer but they get lost in the ramble.
Just listened to the episode with Mark Elsdon - absolutely first class. Steve lets the conversation flow naturally, asks the right questions, and keeps it real without any of the usual fluff. I loved the relaxed pace and the genuine content over gimmicks. You can tell Steve’s a performer and artist himself, which really elevates the discussion. As someone who’s been into magic and mentalism for years (though my day jobs in opera and acting), this was a joy to listen to. Bravo!

A thoughtful, craft-focused conversation series centered on magic, performance, and the creative process. Episodes blend behind-the-scenes insights from performers, educators, and industry insiders with practical takes on pricing, marketing, showmanship, and career sustainability. The format favors granular, opinionated discussions, often exploring how audience perception, branding, and community dynamics shape success in magic and related performing arts. A standout trait is the host's openness about vulnerabilities, mentorship, and evolving craft, making it valuable for performers seeking honest perspectives, practical tips, and a humane approach to professional growth.
