This is my trusted go-to news every morning. It’s become such a part of my routine that when the podcast isn’t updated or misses a day, I start to worry about Brad Mielke’s well-being and feel like I should reach out to his mom just to make sure he’s okay.

I’ve listened to this podcast every day for years and have slowly noticed how pro Israel the messaging is. Coverage of Palestine always focused on antisemitism and not genocide. Poor coverage of an obviously false flag bus bombing in Israel last year. And now, further bias reporting on the Iran Israel conflict. Today’s headline is for a synagogue attack where no one but the driver died while thousands are dying in Middle East. I am finding a new podcast.
And sometimes the only one I listen to. I find Brad and the other news people reassuring and informative without over sensationalizing. Short and to the point.
Love to start my day with start here. It’s the perfect length with just enough news to know what’s going on in the world, without being overwhelmed. I especially look forward to “one last thing” and the sound bite at the end. I always try to guess what it will be and Brad’s corny dad jokes lol. Keep up the good work crew!
The show is interesting and does help you start with the major stories of the day. I prefer CNN’s This Morning podcast bc I feel like it covers way more news. And it has a lot of guest “experts” and analysts who bring variety to the show. Of course that show is longer, currently about 45 mins or so. Start Here is better than NPRs First Up bc that only covers 3 stories and only very briefly. I would prefer if Start Here had more coverage of more stories, and also more voices than just the one ho... more
