  • Wesley is a natural

OK, full disclosure, Wesley is a friend of mine… but I’m a busy guy and only have so many Podcast minutes in my day to spread around. So when Wesley told me about his Podcast of course I was willing to give it a try but didn’t know how long there after I would stick around. Knowing him, I guess I shouldn’t have surprised that it is really great!!! I’m a hardcore “watch guy” and feel that all of his Watch Industry related guests have been incredible listens. Wesley is a natural interviewer- nice ... more

  • Feels like I’m in a living room chatting with friends.

Such a good vibe. Love learning about all sorts of people and what they do and what inspires them. Being able to hear all the ups and downs of their lives gives it a “hero’s journey” feel and who doesn’t love a good story. Definitely recommend!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 182 - Mike Nouveau (Vintage Watch Dealer)
Q: What's the reality of buying watches in Japan vs the US?
Japan offers high-quality pieces but the US often provides cheaper prices and better condition overall; the trip is about more than price—it's about access to the right provenance and condition, not just chasing deals.
Ep. 182 - Mike Nouveau (Vintage Watch Dealer)
Q: What makes Cartier and Patek Philippe stand out for you compared to other brands?
Cartier is elegant and deeply collectible; its lineage isn't as exhaustively documented as Rolex, which creates a treasure-hunt dynamic for collectors. Patek Philippe shares that same sense of rare, storied pieces that require patience and negotiation.
Ep. 182 - Mike Nouveau (Vintage Watch Dealer)
Q: How did your background as a DJ influence your current approach to selling vintage watches?
The same energy and networking instincts from club nights carried over into the watch world—building relationships, knowing where to be, and reading people to close deals. It's about staying curious and moving fast when opportunities arise.
Ep. 180 - Jake Woolf (Style Writer)
Q: Well, I want to start off talking a little bit about just style at large. It seems like everything goes at the moment. What do you think about that, or do you feel the same way?
There are no real pervasive rules anymore; there's product out there for every vibe—from Eddie Slimane's Saint Laurent to Rick Owens—so you can essentially choose your own adventure and still feel cohesive. Trends are broad and varied, and the key is picking what resonates with you rather than following a single dictated path.
Bonus Episode: Watches & Wonders and Formula 1 with Blake Buettner
Q: How did not being physically present at Watches & Wonders affect the reporting and impressions of new releases?
Photos constrain perception; firsthand fitting and movement feel often change opinions, making personal inspection critical to fully understanding a watch's size, bracelet, and wearability.
