  • Great Pod Cast

I was born in 1967 and have been a Blues fan all my life. This Pod Cast brings back so many great memories of the team and players I have grown up with. Even the organ music at the intro and end of the pod cast bring back so many happy memories sitting in the old Arena and now Enterprise.

    Thank you Tom Calhoun!

I know it will be a hard get but please try to get Brian Sutter on.

  • Fantastic

This brings me back to ‘93...hearing Tom at the games is something I never want to lose. I do miss the barn…being an 8 year old and listening to Tom with the organ playing…just priceless…I can smell the clean sheet of ice (and beer).

Bonus Episode! The Towel Man- Ron Baechle
Q: How did the Towel Man tradition begin?
It started after a Peoria trip inspired by watching a similar crowd ritual, and with a pastor friend recognizing Baechle's hockey enthusiasm; the idea grew as he began tallying goals and counting towels, expanding from a few sections to the whole arena over several years.
Jim Thomas- Legendary Blues/Rams Beat-Writer
Q: What was your first big Blues moment that stood out as you started covering them?
The Gloria moment stood out early on, when the team began using that song after big wins, and it became a defining ritual that connected players and fans alike.
Jim Thomas- Legendary Blues/Rams Beat-Writer
Q: What drew you to covering hockey after a long NFL focus?
I shifted because our beat needed a blues writer and I found the hockey beat to be a fresh, challenging field where I could apply my reporting skills and still stay deeply connected to St. Louis sports.
Blues Broadcasting Great Ken Wilson
Q: What was the origin of the 'Old Baby' nickname and how did you balance excitement with professionalism?
The nickname came spontaneously during a game; I realized the importance of not overusing it, staying true to journalism while sharing the moment with fans, and my wife encouraged me to lean into it.
Blues Broadcasting Great Ken Wilson
Q: How did your collaboration with Dan Kelly come about and how did it evolve?
Rex Lardner brought the Blues to Sports Time and proposed pairing me with Dan; we shared the workload and learned from each other, which helped me transition to ESPN later on.
