  • Pete from Jerra

Kane Cornes, a rare man of conviction in our sadly politically correct media is essential and enjoyable listening.

  • Good insights, considered opinions

High quality, well researched, Hoyney is brilliant listening, Healey is fearless in his views and they are normally based on sound judgements. Cornes obviously respects him a lot, and as such he tempers his more ill-considered takes, which works well. Whitey is great and is prepared to give a contrarian position which is usually based on well-grounded logic.

  • The chemistry is stifled

Just feel that Gerard and Kane-O dont gel. Both great footy commentators in their own right but I reckon Kane isnt able to shine in this format, hence its not compelling enough and somewhat boring.

  • I love Kane!

Kane is the best AFL media pundit by a country mile.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ken's Ten | 10 Best things about being a senior coach (07.04.26)
Q: What is your favorite aspect of coaching?
The personal connections and the chance to develop not just players, but young men and future coaches, which to me is as important as any tactical success.
Full on Footy with Champion Data analyst Daniel Hoyne (31.03.26)
Q: Who does effective disposals?
Hoyne explains the formal definition of an effective disposal and how it can occur even if ball handling deteriorates slightly, as long as the outcome preserves possession.
AFL.com.au journalist Michael Whiting ahead of Brisbane v Collingwood (01.04.26)
Q: Are you a supporter of the opening round in Queensland, or should games be spread differently?
The consensus in the discussion is that starting in Queensland has its merits for regional exposure and local audience, but there are logistical and competitive considerations that the panel weighs, with a leaning toward experimentation while keeping fairness.
Shoulder surgeon Dr Brendan Soo (23.03.26)
Q: What's the best-case scenario do you think for Errol Gulden, given a timeline of 16 weeks, and how early could he realistically return if he beats that time?
The best-case scenario would be around four months with six to twelve weeks for initial healing, followed by movement and strength work; an early three-month return is possible but pushing too hard could risk longer-term damage, so a careful, staged rehab is essential.
Shoulder surgeon Dr Brendan Soo (23.03.26)
Q: What's the likely upside and the likely downside if there is to be any?
Soo explains that early surgery can reduce the risk of recurrent dislocation and allow reconstruction with better tissue conditions, but if a fracture is present the choice between early or delayed surgery must balance the immediate benefits against longer-term joint health and the specifics of the injury.
