  • Pete from Jerra

Kane Cornes, a rare man of conviction in our sadly politically correct media is essential and enjoyable listening.

  • Good insights, considered opinions

High quality, well researched, Hoyney is brilliant listening, Healey is fearless in his views and they are normally based on sound judgements. Cornes obviously respects him a lot, and as such he tempers his more ill-considered takes, which works well. Whitey is great and is prepared to give a contrarian position which is usually based on well-grounded logic.

  • The chemistry is stifled

Just feel that Gerard and Kane-O dont gel. Both great footy commentators in their own right but I reckon Kane isnt able to shine in this format, hence its not compelling enough and somewhat boring.

  • I love Kane!

Kane is the best AFL media pundit by a country mile.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Melbourne Mavericks head coach Gerard Murphy (29.04.26)
Q: How was the performance last week?
It was a good win; we ground it out and were able to finish strong, despite facing a good opponent with back from injury players returning.
St Kilda assistant coach Robert Harvey (28.04.26)
Q: Rob, tell us about the midfield changes this year and how the new players like TDK and Marshall are fitting in.
Harvey describes a process of building a balanced midfield with an eye on the future, noting that some players are still developing patterns and chemistry while older players provide essential experience.
Melbourne Mavericks assistant coach Nicole Richardson (15.04.26)
Q: Or how come Chris Scott's not doing this?
The discussion reflects on how coaching styles differ across sports and teams, emphasizing the need to adapt defensive principles rather than replicate another club's exact approach.
Melbourne Mavericks assistant coach Nicole Richardson (15.04.26)
Q: Righto. Tell me this. As a top line coach in netball, what should we be learning from your code that you see and think to them ourselves? How come Brad Scott's not doing this?
We use a mix of defensive approaches, balancing traditional hard one-on-one with area defense to counter different opponents, and we're focused on improving centre pass conversions and ball gains to stay competitive.
Carlton legend Anthony Koutoufides (15.04.26)
Q: What are your memories of the Collingwood rivalry, Koutoufides, as a player?
Koutoufides reflects on growing up a Collingwood supporter, the intensity of the Carlton–Collingwood clashes, and how the matchups against Dacos and Silvani shaped his thinking about midfield roles and leadership.
