  • #1 Kraken Podcast

Fellas, I am a Washingtonian and a Navy fighter pilot stationed overseas with 21 years of service (my name isn’t attached to this post for security). I’m a long time hockey fan, and when Seattle got a hockey team, I was elated! I’ve been following the Kraken since day one. Last year, when I moved outside the US, I realized a lot of the US streaming services are restricted. Also, almost none of the local anything has US news or sports, so I rely on ESPN news (meh) and podcasts for info and update... more

  • Love the Pod, particularly the Fun-Brown content

In addition to great Kraken hockey analysis, I love the community the hosts are developing around the team. And, I really enjoy the Darren Fun-Brown sidebars that start the show. Let Darren cook!

  • A rebuttal

I have been listening to Sound of Hockey for years and have never felt like taking the time to actually leave a review, until I heard the incredulous take by Bman on last week’s show. It is my opinion that the first 14 (or whatever the number was) minutes of off-topic conversation needs to actually increase. I would listen to a 2-hour podcast of these guys just talking about paint drying because I know they would make it entertaining. Some of my favorite Sound of Hockey memories are the off-the-... more

  • Rebuttal to B Man

As a long time listener to Sound of Hockey I have to step up and defend our boys, especially Darren. I love hearing about crows, his golf game, his affinity for goaltenders (which I do not share but find endearing nonetheless), his struggles with pencils and erasers, and his correct take on Cybertrucks (both of which I DO share).

A lifelong hockey fan growing up in Pittsburgh, I moved to Seattle in 2013 and became thrilled with the possibility of the NHL expanding here. I was one of the firs... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 356 - LIVE FROM SOH FEST! - 1st Period, with Everett Fitzhugh
Q: Have you ever said anything on the mic that you regret?
I try to reflect who I work for and be fair, but I've had to learn that over the last four years now, five years.
Ep 356 - LIVE FROM SOH FEST! - 1st Period, with Everett Fitzhugh
Q: Everett, how has it been growing into this role in the NHL?
It's been fun, I mean, these five years now. I genuinely mean that... seeing the same passion here from the fans... It's been absolutely amazing.
Ep. 354 - Featuring Matt Murray
Q: Where do you see yourself fitting in this season?
I think my job is to just kind of show up every day. If I do that and play my best, I think the rest will take care of itself.
Ep. 354 - Featuring Matt Murray
Q: Can you talk us through your process of getting your mask done?
Sometimes I'll have good, strong ideas that I want to implement it, and other times I'll let Steph, who's the painter there at Griff, come up with certain ideas.
Ep. 354 - Featuring Matt Murray
Q: What do you remember from the celebration of winning the Stanley Cup and then what was your day with it like?
The celebration is long usually. I remember afterwards, especially the second one in Nashville. I was so dehydrated after the game that I was getting leg cramps and hand cramps, and I could barely get my hand off my stick because my arms are cramping so badly.
