  • Much, much better with new hosts

I’m happy to see the new updated show with new hosts. Quite a bit more hockey substance and analysis as compared to the previous host.

These guys seem better prepared and the discussions are interesting and in depth on hockey data and stats related to Kraken.

They’ll also discuss the Seattle women’s PWHL team a bit as well, which is fine, but not too far afield.

If you gave up on this Podcast previously (like I did) I would suggest giving this a chance with the new hosts.

  • Glad this is back

I miss Erica Ayala and I enjoy the new hosts. They are still working on audio quality but the content is great just as it was before.

  • New hosts, let’s get the show rating back up.

With all due respect to the previous host, Glenn and Zaiem are a lot more plugged into the day-to-day of the Kraken and as a result their content is on another level. Two episodes in and it’s already a very different listening experience. A lot more team and hockey-focused.

  • Lacking knowledge

I appreciate the host. I listened to as many Kraken podcasts as possible: The Deep Dive, Seattle Kraken Audio Network, The Kraken Pod, Signals From the Deep, and Locked on Kraken. I’ve listened to them all looking for the best one with content. This podcast is easily the worst.

If you listen closely to what is said, then you’ll find the content doesn’t say much more than open comments that are facts (easiest to see if you critically read the transcript). It seems like the host is playing it sa... more

  • Needs a host that knows hockey

This seems to be one of the only LockedOn pods where the host knows nothing about the sport or team they’re covering. The host of an NHL focused pod should probably know how to pronounce Boeser and Ehlers name correctly. There are way better Kraken podcasts right now. The show needs a new host.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

PRIORITY: Seattle Kraken Must DECIDE on Bobby McMann's Future -- Should they Overpay to Keep Him?
Q: And obviously, your relationship with Lane obviously plays some aspect in that. But kind of how do you view what's coming?
The guest expresses openness to staying if the fit is right, highlighting the importance of winning, opportunity, and a supportive environment, while acknowledging the need to reflect and discuss with agents.
Seattle Kraken SHUT DOWN Jared McCann for Remainder of Season
Q: What is the rationale behind shutting down Jared McCann for the rest of the season?
The host argues it helps the Kraken maximize lottery odds to secure a top-two pick, which is seen as essential for turning around the franchise by increasing the probability of landing a franchise-changing prospect.
Seattle Kraken Sixth-Worst Team AGAIN as Lane Lambert Spirals into DESPAIR
Q: Do you expect Lane Lambert to be back next year, and what guidance should the organization consider as it plans offseason moves?
Lambert is viewed as the best of the recent coaches but the panel stresses the need for decisive leadership and a clear plan, acknowledging that the franchise may need to overhaul parts of the core or coaching staff to regain traction.
Seattle Kraken Sixth-Worst Team AGAIN as Lane Lambert Spirals into DESPAIR
Q: Today, we're going to ask if the Kraken have the temerity and the spine to do the things necessary to actually get this team back to the playoffs.
The host frames the question as a long-term test of bold decision-making; the guests discuss coaching, roster turnover, and strategic pivots as essential to creating a playoff-contending core, with emphasis on making tough calls even when they're uncomfortable.
Jaden Schwartz escapes a potentially GRUESOME injury
Q: Should Lane Lambert be held accountable for the Kraken's recent performances?
The hosts argue that while Lambert should be scrutinized for ongoing results, there are legitimate contextual factors like illnesses, roster injuries, and the overall talent level of the roster that complicate assigning sole accountability to the coach.
