  • Great but could be better

I truly appreciate the content. I listen regularly.

If I had to give a critique I would say to work on getting to the material quicker with less background. I notice there’s a lot of unnecessary repetition. You’ll start by saying let’s get into it but then you don’t until 5-10 minutes later.

  • Thank You

I love Dr Flowers’ work and, even if he ends up being wrong about Calvinism, he’s got ten times the Christian graciousness of James White, who treats Flowers awfully. Flowers is a model of how a Christian should behave.

  • At peace again…

Since I was barely old enough to remember, I have had a sincere desire to know and serve my Saviour. I have lived in intimacy with Him, and while I have had my fair number of trails, they have only grown my faith as I saw His loving hand working all things for my good. I was never encouraged to develop any strong ties to a specific theology—what mattered was Christ, and Him crucified, repentance of sin and growing in the likeness of Jesus. During the Covid era, the church I grew up in shut down ... more

  • So encouraging and confirming

It’s taken me about seven years to come out of my 40+ years of Calvinism sitting under one of the most prominent Calvinistic pastors/preachers alive today, and to see the true love and provision of God for ALL his creatures. And Leighton’s awesome program has been not only a major confirmation that I’m on the right biblical track but has encouraged me to hang in there and to study the Bible more to make sure I can support my provisionalism from scripture. My husband and I are still in the teensy... more

  • Poor arguments

I think it is poor to bash Calvinism when all of the points actually are backed by scripture. God doesn’t hate us just to hate us. He hates sin, and unless he changes our heart, we are incapable of seeing His goodness. I think you should take another look at Romans 9. Sad to hear this episode and people responding positively.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Is Wes Huff Reformed?
Q: Why doesn't He get the same forgiveness?
Because God knows things we don't, and Romans 8 and 9 discusses the hardening of hearts for His will. God uses these actions for greater purposes.
Is Wes Huff Reformed?
Q: What happens to children that die on the first day of life or someone with a cognitive disability?
God is free to save whom He wants to save, as his character in scripture indicates.
Total Inability with YourCalvinist, Keith Foskey
Q: Is man in and of himself able to choose that which is pleasing to God?
The answer hinges on whether divine enablement is necessary, which both sides agree upon, but the point of contention is whether God must cause one to want to choose Him.
Phil Johnson's Misunderstanding of Provisionism
Q: What does confessing you're in bondage to sin do under your theology?
Confessing your sin allows God to begin the healing process, as you humble yourself and admit your need for His help.
Phil Johnson's Misunderstanding of Provisionism
Q: Do you think somebody has to be turned into a more powerful or virtuous person by God in order to put their trust in Christ?
No, according to my view of provisionism, a person can believe in Jesus without needing to be transformed into a more virtuous being first.
