  • Great pod & Suggestion

Hey, just listened to the Mag Bay ep and loved it. One suggestion I would make is maybe providing a little less info about what other writers do / what studies you’ve read on process as you interview them and instead fully focus on finding out and asking what the guests do themselves.

Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene)
Q: Do you think it's important in some fashion to create every day, or can forcing it lead to stale work?
Drew argues that daily creation is valuable but emphasizes that the quality and mood of the environment matter; routine helps keep momentum, but the organic, subconscious flow often drives the best ideas.
Lolo Zouaï

She prefers a notes app for its speed and convenience, while acknowledging that pen and paper can aid memory and a different cognitive process; she sometimes uses both depending on the moment.
Lolo Zouaï
Q: How do you decide when to write about emotionally intense events or losses, and how long you wait to process before writing about them?
Distance and processing time are crucial; she mentions needing years to revisit the loss of a close friend before writing about it, ensuring she can reflect on it with perspective.
Lolo Zouaï
Q: Do you think it's important to create every day, and what happens if you don't feel like it?
She believes breaks are healthy and that creativity can come from other outlets, and she doesn't force daily creation, instead allowing for natural bursts and other creative activities to sustain her overall craft.
