  • Jason Wise says white males can’t have opinions

I wanted to learn and listen about wine. Unfortunately Jason Wise is one of those that says if you are of a certain race or gender you “can’t” or “shouldn’t” have opinions. Jason, you can shake the woke stick all you want, but we’re all human beings on this planet, with brains and souls, and we can formulate our own opinions and ideas. It’s destructive, naive, divisive, and sick gaslighting. We can’t even just talk about the beauty of wine anymore. I hate the world today.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 294: Have you tried the best wine in the world?
Q: Let me ask flat out, do you think Georgia has land and site-specific vineyards as good as Burgundy or Bordeaux, or the great places of the world?
Georgia has a unique biodiversity and terroir potential rooted in Vitis vinifera origins in the South Caucasus; the goal is to match and express these terroirs through multiple winemaking styles rather than a single traditional method, thereby defining a distinct Georgia terroir on par with the classics.
Episode 293: The rebirth of wine
Q: How has Georgia managed to balance ancient traditions with modern wine making?
By blending deep historical knowledge with education abroad (Germany, France, USA, Portugal, Spain), and by focusing on quality control and international recognition through agencies like the National Wine Agency.
Episode 293: The rebirth of wine
Q: But what was the spark that restarted Georgian wine?
The guest describes a combination of generational change, international education of winemakers, and government efforts to promote quality and fight falsification, which together spurred Georgia's wine renaissance.
Episode 292: The Bu!!sh|t in wine: how one man exposed the “leading” wine magazine
Q: How did Wine Spectator respond when they discovered the hoax?
They revoked the award and issued public statements. The guest framed this as a demonstration of industry bullshit rather than a fair evaluation, which amplified the debate about the magazine's practices.
Episode 292: The Bu!!sh|t in wine: how one man exposed the “leading” wine magazine
Q: What does it take to get a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence?
The guest explains that the process seemed more like a transactional submission with a fee, and the “standards” were murkier than expected, prompting him to test whether the award reflected genuine evaluations or advertising influence.
