  • Not normally a DnD fan but...

I have played DnD once in my life and it was fun enough, but not really my thing. I'm more of a "read fantasy books" person. However, my new job has an 1.5 hr commute and my brother suggested this podcast. Despite my hesitency, I started listening and I haven't stopped listening since! The storyline is interesting and described well so it feels like listening to a book on tape, except the characters themselves have commentary on it. This is especially true when you add the occasional sound effec... more

  • Seriously, guys, why are you not listening

This podcast is absolutely amazing. I love it, even if it’s a bit rough on the recording (just for episode one) stay tuned because it gets better. So much to take in. The players are fun, the DM is solid. Sticking with these guys for the long run

  • Mysteries Abound

I'm still early on in season 1, and the characters/players do a good job of hinting at mysteries in their character backgrounds without being either over dramatic or allowing it to subsume the story. Looking forward to the reveals of the answers. Like, what the heck is up with Geej?

  • A Well Told Story.

This is exactly how I wish I could run campaigns. James is a fantastic DM and it only gets better when I imagine the lack of pants. Don’t think about that too hard.

All of the players are also wonderful, making engaging characters and playing them with gusto. The focus on personality, behaviour and the little details is incredible as is the world surrounding them.

This story is worth listening to.

  • Listen to this!

This podcast gets momentum very quick and it continues to keep you wondering about the character's backgrounds. I'm only about 10 episodes in but have found it super entertaining since Ep 1.

I can see the characters and world as they play and explain it. I'm looking forward to all the episodes still to go! Thanks Sometimes Heroes!

  • Intriguing Characters

The story is straight forward and easy to follow with enough twists and turns to keep things interesting. The characters have some mysterious backgrounds that create a nice dynamic and the group role-plays well.

  • Fun storytelling

Fun story, good pacing, lets you get the feel of a campaign with more of the characters and plot than just dice and fighting. Like how you can get caught up in it and feel part of the story, and dissapointed when each episode ends and the next one isn't out yet. Keep making more please!
