Fascinating story. I haven’t seen this film but now want to watch it. Being European, I was aware of Christiane F. and The Baader Meinhof Complex, also excellent films. Thanks for highlighting this one. Noam Gonick is a great guest and Norm Wilner an amazing host.
You have to put up with more than occasional typical Hollywood left-wing garbage. The once upon a Time in Hollywood episode is the worst kind of garbage naval gazing you'll never hear. It's awful. If you understand the left, however, it makes sense because to them, SJW insanity is a religion. Regarding the film analysis, it is very interesting. The podcast that deserves 10 stars is the Jaws one. Loved the enthusiasm on that. That's how to do it.

I am now updating my own third anniversary review to reflect the additional years of what this podcast does so well: being insightful and enthusiastic. So many of these have led me to rewatch the movie being discussed, or check out a film I wouldn’t have otherwise considered. And often it’s also put the guest’s project on my radar. I have to credit this show for many happy viewing experiences.
I’ve been listening for years but listening to your Sirk discussion finally got me off my duff and into this review space. I’m learning so much and I LOVE how fluidly you go with whatever and wherever your guest takes the convo. Just a genuinely smart and engaging show.
