  • Truly Canadian content and humour

Thoroughly enjoy listening to the stories and experiences every week, and get a great laugh when the show goes a little off track occas....frequently, lol. There is an honest and friendly connection between hosts, and the banter between them keeps the show interesting. Enjoy the range of topics, call in's and occasional political opinion/rants. Weekly shows require a lot of time and effort from the hosts, but it truly is appreciated by the listeners.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 655 – Mark from Serbu Firearms
Q: How has the move affected the business and its ability to deliver?
The move created a financial strain and backlog, reducing production capacity temporarily and complicating insurance and test-firing logistics. Mark emphasizes the trade-off between scaling up and maintaining quality while navigating new space and regulatory constraints.
Episode 655 – Mark from Serbu Firearms
Q: What were the biggest engineering hurdles in bringing the Bfg-50A to production?
The major hurdles were transitioning the gas system from direct impingement to a piston-based setup, dealing with tight tolerances, and redesigning components so the system could tolerate real-world use without failing. Mark details multiple iterations of pistons, gas holes, and venting, culminating in a design that could reliably function under stress.
Episode 655 – Mark from Serbu Firearms
Q: Welcome, Mark. What is Serbu Firearms all about, and where do you fit in the market?
Serbu is a niche manufacturer focused on high-caliber, purpose-built firearms, balancing hardcore engineering with a lifestyle approach. The flagship products, like the Bfg-50A and the Super Shorty, illustrate a commitment to innovative designs that stand out in a crowded market, even if the path to market is challenging.
Episode 645 – Noah Schwartz: The Truth About Canadian Gun Politics
Q: Noah, welcome to the show. Tell us a little about your background and how you came to study gun policy in Canada.
Noah Schwartz describes himself as a political science professor at the University of the Fraser Valley, originally from Ottawa, who shifted focus from U.S. gun policy to Canada after recognizing a distinct Canadian gun-ownership culture. He explains his PhD work and his two books, On Target and Targeted, and how his research led him to study gun policy in Canada more deeply.
Episode 644 Quebec Stands Up: Inside the Gun Confiscation Protest with Tracey Wilson & Sophie Belen
Q: How is the CCFR engaging with local governments?
They have developed an interactive municipal toolkit and are actively coordinating with police chiefs and local leaders to push motions opposing the buyback.
