  • Lost all credibility

This used to be one of my favorite beauty podcasts. Interesting discussions with interviews with smart, credible people. Until that is, giving airtime to the EWG! A group that has almost single handedly caused the most fear amongst beauty consumers and consistently sprouted fake and misinformation. No real beauty lover or expert would ever promote this group.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Precision Care for Acne and Eczema with Oliver Liu of Hypothesis
Q: What should consumers realistically expect when starting a microbiome-focused routine?
Results build gradually, especially for acne, with meaningful improvement typically visible within one to two weeks and best results over eight weeks of consistent use; eczema improvements can occur sooner for some individuals, but long-term management focuses on balancing the three drivers of the itch-scratch cycle.
Precision Care for Acne and Eczema with Oliver Liu of Hypothesis
Q: What do the clinical results look like for eczema and acne when using these precision enzymes?
In eczema, a dual-arm study showed the enzyme-containing hydrogel cut symptoms by 61% versus 25% in control, and Staph aureus counts dropped dramatically. In acne, eight-week trials with the acne serum showed about 93% improvement by week two and continued gains through week eight, with comparable efficacy to conventional treatments but less irritation.
Precision Care for Acne and Eczema with Oliver Liu of Hypothesis
Q: Can you walk us through that precision-enzyme concept and how it differs from traditional antibacterials?
Liu explains lysins as highly specific enzymes that target bacterial cell walls, allowing selective killing of harmful bacteria (like Staph aureus or C. acnes) while preserving beneficial microbes; this precision approach contrasts with broad-spectrum agents that disrupt the entire skin microbiome.
Gold Infused Skincare Ft. Lejla Cas of KNESKO Skin
Q: How does the GP8X technology work on the skin and what does the acronym mean?
GP8X stands for Gold Peptide Energy Exchange System, combining gold, active peptides, plant stem cells, and pro-collagen supporting actives to stabilize and deliver signaling peptides more effectively, resulting in improved firmness, elasticity, and overall skin response.
From Anti-Aging to Longevity Thinking with Amitay and Anastasia of Young Goose Skincare
Q: What is protocol thinking and why is it central to your approach?
Protocol thinking treats skincare as a holistic program rather than a collection of individual products; it emphasizes selecting a small number of products that address all 12 hallmarks of aging and integrate with lifestyle factors to create compounding benefits.
