Very well put together. Showed my friend it who loves country related podcasts and he said he likes that it’s not bias like others. I like the format and how well it’s put together.
This show has it all folks: culture and how it influences history! Amazing work. Please keep it up!!
I love this podcast! As a high school history teacher it is a fantastic resource for teaching. The episodes are short enough that students are able to maintain focus and they are packed with excellent details.
I love this podcast. Tons of great historical information and it's also easy to listen to. As a high school history teacher, it is also a great resource for students.
This is a fantastically interesting and absorbing podcast, hosted by a knowledgeable and charming host (Edi). It is a brilliant place to start for those just beginning to study Chinese history, politics and culture (like me) but it would also have much to offer for those far more experienced in Chinese matters. Highly recommended, and includes plenty of back-up material as well.

A thoughtful, theory-forward series examining modern Chinese politics, society, and history through scholarly dialogues, book club analyses, and policy breakdowns. Episodes frequently explore nationalism, ethnic policy, urban-rural dynamics, censorship, and the cultural ramifications of state power, often weaving in historical context, literature, and contemporary events. Noteworthy is the blend of rigorous analysis with accessible storytelling, including book-club style conversations and critical takes on official narratives, making it appealing to listeners who enjoy deep dives into China's politics, culture, and history with a clear emphasis on critical perspective and evidence-based discussion.
