Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How AI Is Changing Scientific Publishing with Dr. Jessica Miles | 136
Q: If an AI company comes knocking with a licensing offer, what is actually on the table for scientific societies or associations?
Licensing deals have evolved from large, training-focused agreements to more frequent, real-time usage with ongoing compliance and transparency requirements; societies should seek clarity on what activities are allowed, ensure visibility into how content is used, and pursue governance around ownership and rights in contracts.
How Siri’s Co-Creator Predicts the Next AI Wave with Adam & Noah Cheyer | 131
Q: Noah, how do you view the current AI wave in the events space, and what kinds of hands-on formats are resonating with professionals now?
There's a strong shift toward practical, hands-on workshops and sessions led by people who can connect AI tooling to real event workflows. Leaders and teams want tangible prototypes, tool-stack context, and governance insights to deploy AI effectively without losing human oversight.
How Siri’s Co-Creator Predicts the Next AI Wave with Adam & Noah Cheyer | 131
Q: Adam, can you give us a high-level view of how Siri evolved from its early iterations to the modern AI landscape?
The Siri journey began as a small team developing a voice assistant, which Steve Jobs saw potential in and eventually acquired. It wasn't an overnight success; it took years to refine the technology, integrate with services, and educate users about what AI could do. The broader takeaway is that timing, iteration, and cross-domain integration matter as much as initial breakthroughs.
An FBI Operative’s Guide to Cybersecurity, Deepfakes, and Modern Spycraft with Eric O’Neill | 129
Q: Can you briefly walk us through the Hanssen undercover experience and its relevance to today's cyber espionage landscape?
Eric explains how Hanssen's insider access, combined with a lack of initial cybersecurity controls, created a perfect storm for a 22-year spy within the FBI; the story demonstrates how traditional espionage methods and insider risks persist, informing modern cyber defense strategies.
The Maia 200 Breakthrough, Project Genie’s Living Worlds, & The New Rules of Work | 122
Q: What action do they need to be taking now to ensure that they can reap all the benefits of this technology?
At a minimum, I would get somebody to play with this tool and just mess around with it and get their perspective on it.
