  • ADSSS - no longer worth a listen

Okay so I started listening a couple years ago and so far it was okay I don’t mind when they talk about trivial things because they’re charming but OMG 70% of the show is ads. I skip through them sometimes and I swear there was once that it was like 3 minutes of ads and still I had to keep skipping.

I get that they have to make money somehow but I’d listen to the radio if I wanted to hear this much nonsense.

  • So ANNOYING

There’s about 10% counseling info and 90% blah blah blah & ads. Not worth your time.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rewind: Boundaries with Emotionally Immature People
Q: Is it better to bring a boundary up in one-on-one settings rather than in group settings?
Yes, starting with a one-on-one conversation can reduce defensiveness and increase the likelihood of understanding; if needed, gradually expand to other contexts.
Rewind: Boundaries with Emotionally Immature People
Q: What should I do when someone minimizes a boundary as being 'not that deep'?
Stand firm on the boundary, acknowledge the other person's perspective, and avoid engaging in minimization; use clear language and consider giving them time to reflect rather than arguing in the moment.
Rewind: Boundaries with Emotionally Immature People
Q: How do I know if I'm the emotionally immature one in a relationship?
Experts suggest looking for patterns across different situations and testing whether feedback is received with openness; if the same issues recur and you react defensively, it may be a signal to work on communication and accountability.
Rewind: How to Respond and Not React
Q: Dear Em and Jen, my husband and I have different families with strong boundaries due to past dysfunction; how do we navigate holidays without sacrificing either boundary or relationship?
Start with a candid discussion about core needs and boundaries separate from trying to please others. Identify what is negotiable versus non-negotiable, and craft a joint plan with clear compromises for both sides while protecting the couple's shared priorities. Consider gradual exposure and practice voicing needs calmly when not in conflict, and revisit the plan as needed.
Kids or Childfree: How to Decide What’s Right for You with Keltie Maguire
Q: How do I know if I want kids or not, especially when anxiety about the unknown is high?
Move toward the anxiety rather than avoiding it, write down your specific fears, examine which are founded, and test them with small, practical steps and conversations with your partner; recognize that certainty is not binary and there will be challenges whichever path you choose.
