  • Perfect Find

So I started the show “The Bear” yesterday. It was very intense so it raised my anxiety a bit and it was hard to turn off because it was so good. I forced myself to lay down and listen to my podcast. I listen to the same true crime one every single night but tonight felt different. Watching The Bear made me feel like I needed to check in with my mental so I searched therapy and found this. I started on most recent which was season 7 ep 27 and it’s sooooo good! I’m relating and feel myself drifti... more

  • VERY long intros before getting to the actual topic

Excellent advice on every episode I’ve listened to however my only complaint is that you have to fast forward 10-15 minutes into the episode before they actually even get to the topic of the episode. This last episode was 17 minutes into before they even got to the actual topic of the episode. The 15 minutes of small talk and ads that begin each episode almost make me want to stop following this show but then they finally get to the stuff you want to hear and they are soooo good!

What Resilience Really Looks Like
Q: If we're in the middle of a storm, how can we manage our emotions without shutting down or spiraling?
You should respond, don't react. Allow yourself to have emotions, process them but choose how to act when you're ready.
Why Is It So Hard to Let People In?
Q: How do I not take it personally when my husband doesn't open up to me?
Understand that this pattern is often societal and not about you personally. Often, men are socialized not to share their emotions, which can lead to shut-down behavior.

Q: What for us is so overwhelming about the idea of vulnerability?
It can be overwhelming because many of us were not taught to model vulnerability, making it feel incredibly scary and unsafe.
Can You Heal From Betrayal?
Q: How do I recognize when it's time to stay or go when trying to repair after infidelity?
You need two active yeses: the hurt partner's yes to explore repair and the affair partner's yes to complete accountability.
