パキスタンの第二の都市ラホールで、イスラム神秘主義のスーフィーの儀式に参加して来ました。
参加したと言っても僕は異教徒なので、会場でおとなしく見物していただけですが、いやはや、It’s a ディープ・イスラムワールド。狂ったように頭を振ったり、ぐるぐる回転しながら踊る人々に圧倒され・・・ともかく日本とはあまりにも違う世界観に、宗教って何なんだろう？神ってなんなんだ？などと”旅人っぽい”ことを考えていた訳です。
2023年5月にロンドンで行われた、チャールズ国王の戴冠式のパレードを見るためだけにイギリスに行ってきました。パレードを見届ける王室ファンの面白話はもちろん、まだコロナな世の中だったので、その辺の（今となっては懐かしい）エピソードも語っています。
世界中の遺跡を色々見てきましたが、不思議系、スピリチュアル系ではトップクラスに入る南ラオスの遺跡の話です。（自分調べ）
見た目に派手さはないクメール系の寺院遺跡ですが、訪れないと分からない不思議な空気感とバイブスが、遺跡だけでなく周辺の村や土地の人にも漂っている、そんなところです。
「特に何があるって訳ではないけど、ラオスって何かいいよね」と多くの旅人が口にしますが、その“何か”がここにあります。
そろそろ芸術の秋！という事で、世界で一番小さい国：バチカン市国で、ミケランジェロの大傑作「ピエタ」を見てきた話になります。
大理石に掘られたピエタ像の素晴らしさも去ることながら、彼が彫刻作品を掘り出す時の芸術的逸話にもいたく感動・・・。
世界最小国家にちなんで、話もいつもよりコンパクトに語っていますので、是非聞いてみて下さい。
2023年10月7日に発生したハマスによる大規模な越境攻撃からもうすぐ2年を迎えます。ハマスが拘束したままの人質問題もさることながら、イスラエル軍による地上侵攻で、ガザの街並みはすっかり焦土と瓦礫の山と化してしまいました。
そんなガザの街が平和だった頃に旅した思い出話を語っています。
パレスチナの若者と殴る蹴るのファイトをしたり、病院のナースの方や国連（UNRWA）の方にお世話に成ったり、難民キャンプに行ったり、ハマスのメンバーに出会ったり・・・と色々ありました。

2025年の5月に発生してしまったタイとカンボジアの国境紛争は、7月により大きな武力衝突に発展してしまいました。現在は停戦合意がされて落ち着いていますが、まだ陸路の国境は閉じたままです。
8月にタイとカンボジアに行って来て、現地で見て来たよもやま話や、両国と日本が関係したマニアックな歴史にも触れています。
8月の末に、スペインのブニョールという田舎町で行われるトマト投げ祭りに行ってきました。赤、赤、赤・・・全身トマトまみれ。抗酸化作用の強いリコピンを浴びて、お肌すべすべのアンチエイジングをしたい方にもおすすめ（？）
いや～しかしあの熱気はすごかった、、、そんな話です。
カトマンズで「ヴィパッサナー・メディテーション」の10日間のコースを受けてきた時の話です。
何事も一度は体験してみたい性分の僕は、「どうせやるなら、一番有名な所で」と、ブッダが悟りを開いた時の瞑想法を今に伝えているというヴィパッサナーの門を叩いたという訳です。10日間の瞑想中に起こった精神的＆身体的事象（異変？）・・・煩悩と戦った話など是非聞いてみて下さい～
