I really enjoy this podcast. Her voice is lovely and she exudes such warmth. The mutual admiration evident in her relationship with Tony Doerr was beautiful.
A detailed and intimate dive into real life (the day-to-day as well as the earth-moving). Laura helped us get through the pandemic! A lovely show to have in my feed.
Through interviews and narrative storytelling, this podcast is a masterful reflection on how life has evolved during the pandemic: the shocks, the uncertainty, the relentless change, and the new connections & communities that were built. It's been awesome to see how this podcast has evolved over the years, and the uplifting impact it's had on so many people.
Laura’s voice and storytelling are both a breath of fresh air and a warm mind-opening cup of fresh coffee.
Laura is a wonderful host and a credit to the writing community at large.

Love this podcast! Fun listen and well made!
Listening to “everyday magic”, my first episode of Shelter in Place— already deeply inspired and feeling connected to the folks who shared their stories. Thank you !
This show takes the pandemic lockdown and makes it into a time capsule for generations to come. The premise of the show is that the Oakland-based podcaster began a daily podcast on day 1 of the pandemic lockdown. She examines herself, her family, neighborhood, city/state, country and world. One of my very favorite podcasts and I recommend to all families sheltering in place together.
“One of life’s harshest realities is that we all break down” - A Good Age Revisited insightfully captures how we grapple with growing old, navigate our twenties, and continually redefine how we understand age. The juxtaposition of perspectives creates an artful and touching examination of our time here, and it exemplifies the fantastic work that Shelter in Place create with each episode. It’s been a pleasure creating and learning in the Kasama Collective program and virtually working alongside L... more
It is such a surreal experience for me to listen to the final product of As You Wish. Laura and Nate helped me to cultivate it from an idea to a well-crafted, superbly created podcast episode. This experience reminded me a lot of going through labor!!! The pain, the laughter, the tears, the much needed meds! But just like labor, with that last push, the end product is more beautiful than I ever imagined and it has forever changed me. Thank you Laura and Nate for being my podcast obstetrician... more

This podcast is about the journey we are all on to become more compassionate humans with ourselves and within our communities.
