2025年度から、65歳以上の方などが、帯状疱疹ワクチンの定期接種対象に。50歳を超えると発症率がぐっと上がり、生涯でおよそ3人に1人が発症するとするデータもあります。発症すると、激しい神経痛や視力障害（失明リスクを含む）につながることも。
