  • Great Info

I thoroughly enjoy the info on this podcast. It’s stuff I think should be more front page. But, I find it a bit hard to listen to. Is the audio sped up? It moves along so fast that I can hardly keep up. I feel wound up after listening.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sam Abuelsamid on Autonomous Vehicles (re-broadcast)
Q: What are some of the hiccups you think are most noteworthy in this energy transition and how can we overcome them?
The transition is hard because it combines technology with human behavior; challenges include ensuring reliable perception, maintaining driver monitoring, and managing economic and policy implications for cities and transit.
Sam Abuelsamid on Autonomous Vehicles (re-broadcast)
Q: What is Tesla's vision with this? What's the plan?
Tesla advocates for full self-driving primarily through software updates, but Abuelsamid argues that current hardware and safety testing practices are insufficient for truly unsupervised robotaxis, raising concerns about safety and reliability.
Sam Abuelsamid on Autonomous Vehicles (re-broadcast)
Q: So why don't you first tell us briefly what Telemetry is and give us a snapshot of your background, if you can.
Telemetry is a Detroit-area research advisory and strategic communications firm; Abuelsamid runs the transportation mobility research practice and has previous experience at Guidehouse Insights and Navigant Research, with a background in engineering and automotive development.
John Stoehr: Gut Check Time For Dems
Q: What should be the short-term to-do list if Democrats capture the House? How would they start exposing this administration's crimes?
He suggests summoning media executives to explain mergers and consolidation, using exposure and investigations to demonstrate control of the information environment and justify restructuring monopolies that shape public perception.
John Stoehr: Gut Check Time For Dems
Q: Let's try to look at what the Democrats have in front of them. And what can be gained by retribution? What did you mean by this new deal?
Stoehr explains that retribution and accountability are essential components of a broader reform agenda; the new deal would combine policies for workers with a rigorous campaign to expose corruption and hold wrongdoers to account, reframing the political landscape to restore trust and advance progressive goals.
