  • Back in the game

Oh my goodness this show has helped me soooooo much to reconnect with my scrapbooking passion. I first discovered Scrapbooking when my children were Babies. I think I stopped when I got separated and felt like I was a bit if a flop😂….. now I am older and wiser and understanding life isn’t perfect so the way we scrapbook needs to be organic.

What is exciting me right now is the idea of making a hybrid scrapbook/journal. I have been blown away listening to where the art of scrapbooking has evo... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

SYW335 - Documenting Life in a Memory Planner with Kristine LeRoss
Q: What are some practical tips for someone starting with this format, particularly around planning and printing photos?
Begin with a rough outline based on a seven-day framework, pull photos into a weekly folder, decide which elements fit the template, and allow space for spontaneity—print only what supports the story, and don't feel compelled to fill every space; it's okay to have gaps.
SYW335 - Documenting Life in a Memory Planner with Kristine LeRoss
Q: How does the Stop the Blur system differ visually and structurally from other memory-keeping methods like Project Life?
Stop the Blur uses a two-page spread with weekly formats but emphasizes modular dividers, optional pockets, and multiple page styles. It's not about shrinking to fit but about layering elements in a way that can adapt week by week, sometimes using one photo on a page or large photos with supporting journaling.
SYW335 - Documenting Life in a Memory Planner with Kristine LeRoss
Q: Can you start by sharing some of the basics of memory planning and how you transitioned from traditional 12 by 12 scrapbooking to Stop the Blur?
I shifted when my daughter was graduating and I needed a format that could reflect the newer, quieter season of life. Stop the Blur helped me document smaller weekly moments rather than big, single-event layouts, and over two years it became my preferred approach, combining photos, minimal journaling, and flexible page formats.
SYW334 - How to Come Back to Scrapbooking After a Hiatus with Miranda Webber
Q: Can you share a little bit about yourself to remind our audience who you are and what you do?
Miranda describes her long-running scrapbook journey starting around 2003, balancing teaching with family life, and how a pause in scrapbooking gave her space to rethink her process and enjoy it again with more intentionality.
SYW332 – Finishing More Scrapbook Projects with Amy Zwart
Q: How does pivoting a project fit into finishing strategies?
Pivoting is encouraged when a project isn't working as planned; it preserves meaning and momentum, allowing you to reuse or repurpose parts of what you started rather than forcing a rigid, unsatisfying outcome.
