  • Sound Problem

Content is very interesting. But I find the sound quality when Paul talks is poor. For the last few podcasts, the sound comes out of 1 earphone and its very noticeable and irritating when he talks. Its not my earphones because there are no problems when Dave or the guests talk.

  • Meh

Some of the player evaluations are good but otherwise nothing but rumors and bad takes on teams and what Coaches and GM’s are ‘thinking’. Also unnecessarily injects political metaphors and similes into every show which are all one sided. Why alienate half your listeners? Extremely unoriginal.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Old School Strategy with Paul Dottino
Q: What other position groups are priorities after interior OL and DL, and how might Day 2/Day 3 picks fill them?
Interior OL, DL, cornerback, and wide receiver are the priorities; Day 2/3 offers depth at linebacker and OL to supplement the top needs.
Old School Strategy with Paul Dottino
Q: What is the core philosophy for building around Jackson Dart—weaponry vs. defense—and why?
Defense comes first to support the quarterback; veteran offensive help can mitigate rookie mistakes and maximize the offense, making defense the foundation.
Old School Strategy with Paul Dottino
Q: Would you take Reese over Downs at five if he were available?
Yes, probably, but only if he meets the two-contract and pro-ball thresholds; otherwise Downs or Styles would be preferable.
Conjecturing Conundrums with Matt Citak
Q: Would you agree with the sentiment that the Giants should consider trading down from five, or could it go differently?
Citak explains that a trade-down to collect additional Day 2 picks could be ideal, but it depends on board dynamics and who remains on the board; he cautions that moving down too far could risk losing top-tier prospects, so a targeted move is preferable.
The Legend Mark Gorscak
Q: What's the most important factor in evaluating a player beyond measurables?
Toughness, football IQ, character, and how a player adapts to the locker room and game plan. Those factors determine whether a player can translate talent into production and fit within a team's culture.
