  • I love it!

This is a podcast that views everything through a liberal filter which is such an affirmation for me. It’s an opportunity to listen to news that I agree with, without having to tolerate the things that I don’t. The variety of guests is fantastic. The only drawback is that the hosts sound a little like teenagers.

  • Concise, Academic, Interesting, and Accessible

This is the type of podcast that appreciates thoughtfulness and bringing academic consideration without the jargon. I would suggest this podcast to anyone looking for an interdisciplinary podcast to social science without the language that can make most scholarly subjects inaccessible to everyone but the professional researcher. No Jargon simultaneously balances this with not talking down to their audience.

  • Easy listen, easy learning

What a great show! No Jargon consistently puts out episodes with researchers that are easy to understand, not overly complex, but boy do they teach you a thing or two. Definitely check them out if you want to dig a little deeper on some fascinating subjects, without getting caught up in the jargon or methodolgy that often make academia so inaccessible.

Episode 294: What Did We Learn From Covid?
Q: What global health lessons could inform U.S. policy going forward?

Episode 294: What Did We Learn From Covid?
Q: Why did mask-wearing and vaccination become so politically polarized, and what can be done to rebuild trust?
Polarization, driven by political and economic interests and historical mistrust in institutions, undermined public health efforts; rebuilding trust requires sustained public health investment, transparent communication, community engagement, and consistent messaging that centers protecting vulnerable populations.
Episode 294: What Did We Learn From Covid?
Q: What stands out to you from the early days of the pandemic and how prepared did the U.S. seem to be?
The early days showed a stark lack of preparedness across local and national institutions, with insufficient protective measures and a rapid shift to working from home being implemented only later; this highlighted systemic gaps in health infrastructure and communication that are still relevant today.
Episode 293: Haiti and the Weight of Uncertainty
Q: What do you wish they understood about the psychological and emotional ripple effects of doing something like ending TPS?
Ending TPS creates legal insecurity for the Haitian community, exacerbating their mental health challenges and deepening their connection to their homeland.
Episode 293: Haiti and the Weight of Uncertainty
Q: How does that setting specifically differ from what we'd consider a traditional mental health setting?
The Lakutanama healing circles integrate cultural practices and community memory into the healing process, differing from traditional psychological settings that may impose a one-size-fits-all solution.
