  • Not necessarily in Hebrew

A lot of English and Yiddish, but unfortunately not a lot of Hebrew content. SBS in Italian is actually in Italian...same with French etc - SBS in Hebrew should be the same: all or mostly in Hebrew. That being said, I understand the inclusion of Yiddish, an otherwise dying/defunct language, and it's nice to see this effort to preserve it, but that shouldn't overshadow or replace the Hebrew.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can Heart Disease Be Prevented? A Conversation with Dr David Blusztein
Q: What is the role of calcium scoring and when should people start screening?
Calcium scoring helps assess underlying coronary artery disease risk; scores above zero suggest closer monitoring and possible preventive therapies, while zero scores often lead to observation with lifestyle management; however, if symptoms arise, urgent evaluation is warranted.
Can Heart Disease Be Prevented? A Conversation with Dr David Blusztein
Q: So what are some of the risk factors leading up to heart disease?
Key modifiable risks include active smoking, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, and family history, while non-modifiable factors like gender and genetics set the baseline risk; addressing these risks through lifestyle changes and medical management can substantially reduce cardiovascular events.
"Holding Light" exhibition - in conversation with Gina Debinski
Q: Did you feel pressure to complete a large work within a short timeframe?
Yes, there was pressure due to the tight deadline, but I had a clear vision in my mind and moved quickly to finish a piece that I hoped would pay homage to the community.
"Holding Light" exhibition - in conversation with Gina Debinski
Q: What drew you to transform that moment into a painting?
I was inspired by the unity and courage shown by the Bondi community after the terror attack; the Paddle Out gathering resonated deeply with me, and I felt compelled to create a piece that honors the victims while highlighting healing and solidarity.
Hopes & Fears within the Jewish community in Australia - in conversation with Ronit Joel
Q: How does identity shape your approach to therapy with Jewish Australian clients?
Identity informs how clients relate to belonging, safety, and moral frameworks; we work to help them understand their sense of self within both their community and wider Australian society, while ensuring clinical neutrality and support.
