Join the Rev. Jacob Smith and the Rev. Aaron Zimmerman each week as they break down the lectionary texts for the coming Sunday with Gospel insight, a few (in)appropriate cultural references, and a heart for the sufferer in the pew—and the pulpit. All in a half an hour or so. Lectionary readings here: http://www.lectionarypage.net/. Audio production by TJ Hester

The conversations just keep getting better. Relevant and heartening. Some skillful pith slinging happening here 😁
I listen every week, whether I’m preaching or not! So grateful for these two outstanding priests. One comment: more banter! 😁
I never knew until I listened to this week’s podcast about the snakes God sent after his whining people that the old Texas parental idiom, “be quiet or I’ll give you something to cry about” had Biblical origins. Thanks guys.
Loved the way the Deuteronomy 18 text is connected to the Mark 1 text in terms of Jesus as THE Prophet who speaks with authority as the Son of God. The issues around Christian liberty around eating and drinking centered perfectly on love as the guiding principle and not on (unrestrained) liberty nor (constraining) legalism. SOS is my fave podcast. Keep ‘em coming! more
Thank you so much. So encouraging! Sorry to hear about Jacob’s side hustle and hospital supplies🤭
