  • Brian & Paul chatting about the game is well worth the listen. Lots of knowledge from Paul, and I really enjoy how Brian carries the conversation.

  • Great Post Game

Love listening to the Sabres Hockey Podcast after a Buffalo Victory. Always great thoughts from the coach, the players, the hosts and Paul Hamilton. Even some great conversations from fan comments on ‘X’.

  • What happened?

All of a sudden, the bottom has fallen out of this previously decent show. The badly slumping team has fallen to the Eastern Conference cellar, yet that fact of life was not mentioned even ONCE following a home ice loss against Toronto. In fact, the host barely even acknowledged the current 12-game winless streak. It’s weird because this show has never pulled punches in the past, and it makes me wonder if Sabres management has complained about “negativity” on the air? Also, phone calls from fans... more

  • Great host and content, but …..

Brian Kozial is your faithful hero , along for the ride whatever happens along with Paul Hamilton playing Friar Tuck to his Robin Hood.

Edit to previous review – More road games are being attended by Paul/Pat and these games have much better post game content. Seems like the distant road trips don’t get it but it’s a start. Maybe when the team gets better they probably will get to join for all games

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

04-28 Alex Lyon Game 5 Postgame
Q: What did you think were the biggest differences in this tight game?
The opponent was desperate and came out hard, but we did a good job of pushing back and staying with it, especially in the later moments as the game wore on.
04-26 Owen Power Game 4 Postgame
Q: Owen, how different is this game because you guys played from in front, you got the first goal and got a lead?
Bringing the lead changes how the other team plays, it opens up opportunities for us and makes it harder for them to clog the system, which is why scoring first was so impactful.
04-26 Owen Power Game 4 Postgame
Q: And the forecheck, is it more than just the three forwards? It seemed like the D is also getting involved, whether it's a rotation or whatever it might be.
It's five guys out there, so everyone has a job on the forecheck. When the forwards forecheck, our D can stay tight and we can keep good gaps, which helps us kill plays and sustain pressure; the whole unit did a great job.
04-26 Owen Power Game 4 Postgame
Q: Owen, it seemed like you guys did even more than pick up where you left off. It seemed like you even hit another level. What was so successful the way you started that game?
We started fast by playing at a high pace, taking the game to their defense, and forcing turnovers, which set the tempo and gave us an ideal start to build on for the rest of the game.
04-26 Marco Sturm Game 4 Postgame
Q: What are you saying to them there during the timeout, and have you ever been in that predicament as a coach?
He describes adjusting message during timeouts to wake players up and emphasize accountability, acknowledging it's a different situation each timeout, and speaking from a position of leadership due to the urgency of playoff hockey.
