  • Challenged My Tolerance

A very interesting subject and voice. I hesitantly say that as a feminist, I found the voice to be needy and too self and attention seeking, truly vexing to me at times, but that is due to my own judgement and lens and not being able to identify with their experiences, not having had any struggle w the decision to have children, and believe like some others in the podcast, it is the most wonderful part of life. What did resonate was the part that most experience, not believing what you tell them... more

  • Great podcast

Loved Creation Myth season 9. Thank you for your work, Helena de Groot and the team around you. The podcast echoes my own personnal reproduction questionnings, but is pertinent for people who don’t have these questionnings too. It asks (and answer!!) the question : what are we actually doing with our lives and what does it mean to be alive? Really great work, great journalism.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 4: Freedom Form
Q: How do you see yourself as a woman after this decision?
I feel that being a woman is not limited by fertility; it's about identifying as feminine and making decisions that confirm who I truly am.
Episode 4: Freedom Form
Q: What motivated framing your sterilization consent form in that way?
It was a note to myself, encouraging me about the decision, reminding me the surgery would grant me freedom from the fear of getting pregnant and losing control over my choices.
Resurrection, Episode 8: San Francisco, 2022
Q: What do you think Daryl would say to all of us if he was here with us in this moment?
I think he would say, you know, Dane, you've spent so much time making meaning out of my life and trying to make meaning out of other queer people's lives. What do you want to do with your life? What are your next 15,000 days gonna look like? What are the paths that you're gonna walk?
NO, Part Four: Questions
Q: What is the difference between feeling disrespected versus violated?
Disrespect may arise from agency in the interaction, while violation indicates a loss of control or consent, which can complicate feelings around the situation.
NO, Part Four: Questions
Q: How do we navigate anger towards men while acknowledging legitimate frustrations?
Recognize that not all men exhibit the same privileges and navigate personal feelings towards them without generalizing.
