  • Is this recorded in a phone booth?

Some interesting content, but the audio quality doesn’t speak to a technology themed podcast

  • Good content, awful production

Listened to the Equifax Breach episode. Good content, but the volume disparity between the interviewer and interviewee is unbelievable. At max volume on my iPhone and headphones the interviewer is borderline unintelligible, while the interviewee is painfully loud. It also sounds like his voice is clipping/distorting when he gets excited. This is very basic audio production - I expected much better from something as big as RSAC.

Stronger Together: The Value of Sharing Threat Intelligence & Best Practices
Q: Why is threat intelligence sharing so important in today's cybersecurity landscape?
Because attackers are increasingly sophisticated and the cost to execute attacks is dropping, making collective defense essential to keep up and reduce risk for all participants.
Privacy and Compliance Challenges with AI
Q: So Noor, can you provide some real-world examples of AI failures within organizations? And then what do they teach us about the consequence of moving too fast without proper consent and governance?
Three notable examples illustrate the risk: a healthcare partnership that used a diagnostic AI on a million patient records without proper consent; a facial recognition company that scrapped billions of publicly available images to build a biometric database leading to lawsuits and cross-border backlash; and an enterprise AI hiring model that discriminated against women due to biased training data, prompting abandonment of the project. These cases show that speed without governance causes consent violations, bias, and broad reputational and legal consequences, underscoring the need for data minimization, robust pipelines, and continuous governance.
Future-Proofing PAM: A Quantum-Safe Blueprint for AI & Zero Trust
Q: So why is now the time for organizations to stop looking at the horizon and start worrying about their current encryption standards?
Because quantum computers could already be collecting encrypted data today and waiting to decrypt it in the future; the security foundations we rely on (RSA/ECC) could be broken much sooner than expected, so proactive crypto agility and zero-trust architectures are essential now.
Governing Generative AI at Scale: From Model Risk to Systemic Control
Q: What about regulators and CISOs? How do we move toward a verifiable and auditable AI model where security, legal, and engineering align around architectural controls?
The path involves architecting systems that enforce governance at runtime, providing evidence of control plane decisions, data access permissions, and policy compliance. This alignment helps prove to regulators and CISOs that AI systems operate within defined boundaries and with ongoing oversight rather than relying solely on post-hoc assurances.
Governing Generative AI at Scale: From Model Risk to Systemic Control
Q: And organizations shouldn't just treat governance as a policy artifact, but rather as a runtime property. So Varun, can you explain what runtime property is and why does it matter that the system is governed while it runs?
Runtime property means embedding governance into the live system so policy enforcement, access control, and observability operate continuously as the AI system processes data and prompts, not just during development or deployment. This avoids gaps that appear as the environment changes, new data comes in, or AI services interact with other components, ensuring safer, more controllable behavior in production.

Industry-leading security leaders and practitioners discuss governance, risk, and practical modernization across large enterprises. Topics span AI governance at scale, privacy-by-design, post-quantum readiness, shadow AI, third-party risk, cyber resilience, and regulatory evolution. Episodes emphasize turning strategy into concrete, auditable actions—runtime governance, measurable risk metrics, and effective vendor engagement—often anchored by CISO perspectives from finance, telecom, manufacturing, and defense sectors. A notable pattern is prioritizing governance and operational resilience over flashy technology, with a strong emphasis on regulatory alignment and real-world applicability for senior security teams and boards.
