  • Very informative! Great show!

I'd like to say that I'm learning new things from your podcast show. According to scientist, Dr. Peter Kalmus, we should focus on reducing and eventually eliminating our use of fossil fuels, which is the primary cause of global warming and climate change. I believe that the shift to renewable energy is one if not our top priority. Thank you for providing a forum for your guest to discuss critical information and inform people that clean energy is a viable option. It’s honestly very frustrating t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Press briefing: Helping reporters tell a better and more pointed story about extreme heat and the impact it has on their community
Q: What is the most important story that the media is still failing to tell about extreme heat?
The core inequity and justice aspect: who has access to cooling and who doesn't, and how vulnerability, governance, and power shape exposure and outcomes, which should be foregrounded alongside statistics.
Interview: Barry R. Davis has written a book about something for which there is no evidence - should 'The Preventioneers' be successful there is nothing to show
Q: Barry, did this book change your views about life or anything at all?
Yes, it shifted his perspective toward seeing prevention as a lens to understand many aspects of society, prompting him to view daily life and policy through a prevention-focused mindset.
Interview: Barry R. Davis has written a book about something for which there is no evidence - should 'The Preventioneers' be successful there is nothing to show
Q: Barry, why do societies repeatedly ignore warning signs even when the data was clear?
The guest explains that resistance comes from changing the status quo, conflicting theories, industry pushback, and political-economic considerations, which delay preventive action even when warnings are strong.
Webinar: 'This is not just summer, we're past the point or showing people having fun in the sun' - Gareth Redmond-King, a panelist discussing 'Fuel omn Fire'
Q: Is climate change making ENSO prediction harder, and what does that mean for forecasting?
Experts suggest that while ENSO itself may be influenced by climate change, models are already stressing the need to anticipate stronger and possibly more volatile El Niño events, which heighten risk assessments and adaptation planning.
Climate News: Pauline Hanson addresses the Nation Press Club illustrating that both she, her party and supporters are locked in the 20th Century and unaware that the world needs new thinking
Q: What is your view on how energy policy should be handled in Australia?
Hanson advocates a pivot away from renewable subsidies toward a mixed energy strategy that includes nuclear power, asserts that current policy has driven energy costs up, and argues for government spending discipline to reduce debt while ensuring reliable power.
