Q: How soon could this be tested and scaled?
A pilot test could occur near the Pinatubo region or off California within the next few years, with continued funding and careful monitoring to build toward a larger rollout by 2030.
Climate News: Invite to talk with EarthX CEO, Peter Simek, about April conference at the Hilton Anatole
Q: What is the core mechanism you're exploring to reduce atmospheric CO2?
The proposal is to stimulate ocean fertilization by adding trace nutrients to trigger phytoplankton blooms, which absorb CO2 as they grow; the challenge is to quantify the net long-term CO2 reduction and manage ecological side effects.

Q: Some people have called you a modern-day Darwin, a setting aside false modesty. How does that sit with you?
Wilson explains that while his ideas were controversial, he accepted debate and argued that sociobiology offered a framework to understand human behavior, even as he faced public and academic pushback from opponents who warned of reductionism and social implications.
