  • Ok, but needs work

I love these interviews, but PG needs to be more professional. That one obnoxious interviewer that always does the metal interviews says “God d@&$,” and “f#%+,” every other word needs to be fired. Grow up. It’d be nice to listen to these with the kids who are into guitar. And hello, you’re doing AUDIO; STOP slapping hands when greeting and saying goodbye! Have you ever seen anything on camera ever, or heard any audio production ever ever? Fist bumps and hand shakes. Jeez. And several episodes su... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rig Rundown: Drug Church
Q: How has Drug Church's guitar setup evolved over time to accommodate a changing hardcore sound?
The band moved from early Les Pauls to a varied rig with Jazzmasters, a chorus-heavy approach, and a reliance on pedals (Tube Screamer, Rat variants, and a modern iron horse) to keep their live sound flexible without overcomplicating gear.
Rig Rundown: Dethklok [2026]
Q: What's the focus of the live rig for the Death Clock show?
Keep the rig simple and centered on two core sounds via Neural and a wah/whammy setup, with no cabs on stage and front-of-house delivering most of the tone, so the visual element can be the main driver while the music remains impactful.
Lamb of God’s Mark Morton [2026]
Q: Why choose the Maxon overdrives in front of the amp?
The Maxon tightens the low-end gain response and adds a touch of sustain and push on single-note work, acting as a line boost without overcomplicating the signal.
Lamb of God’s Mark Morton [2026]
Q: How does the live rig differ from the studio setup?
He emphasizes not trying to recreate studio tones live, instead using similar gear in a way that translates well in a large arena while staying straightforward and reliable.
Lamb of God’s Mark Morton [2026]
Q: What were some of the directions you gave Jim DiCola for the signature guitar?
Morton explains that the focus was finding a balance between strong low-end response for rhythm parts and enough cut, sustain, and gain for heavy metal, with iterative prototyping to reach a practical, stage-friendly feel.
