  • Keep Going!

Hey Erik I recently discovered your podcast and discovered the awesomeness of the person behind Montez. You and Jeremiah Watkins have quickly become my favorite comedians in a big way. However yours has become my favorite podcast. I listen all the time and really enjoy your take on things and even though I’m not a sports person, you’re very entertaining to listen to, no matter what topic you’re covering. You for sure have one of the most authentic voices in podcasting. One of my favorite things ... more

  • I don’t know why I like this podcast.

This is the raggediest podcast in The world. The theme song? terrible! The host is rather rude to the listeners & thinks he has a good singing voice, but doesnt & somehow I always come back. One thing I can say is that Griffin is pretty consistent & occasionally borders on funny although it’s usually more corny than funny. I’d say if you want to have a love hate relationship this is the pod for you but just be careful he’s sensitive as a wet whipe.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Riffin With Simon Rex RWG EP346
Q: What are your thoughts on the current state of film and streaming, and how do you see the industry evolving with AI and independent cinema?
AI will change certain aspects of production, but audiences will still crave human-centric storytelling and authentic performances. Independent, lower-budget films may thrive as alternatives to bloated blockbusters, as streaming makes niche, heartfelt content more accessible to viewers worldwide.
Riffin With Simon Rex RWG EP346
Q: Can you share the Meghan Markle anecdote and what it reveals about navigating tabloids and truth in the age of social media?
They offered a large sum to me for a false claim, but I refused because I value truth and integrity. The experience highlighted how tabloids hunt sensational stories, and it underscored the importance of verifying information before believing or spreading it, especially in a media landscape that thrives on clicks.
Riffin With Simon Rex RWG EP346
Q: What was it like transitioning back into serious acting after the music chapter, and how did Red Rocket influence that shift?
Red Rocket served as a catalyst, reigniting interest in my acting that helped me land more roles. The film's critical acclaim gave filmmakers confidence in me again, and I was able to leverage that momentum to pursue bigger acting opportunities rather than continuing solely with music or touring.
Riffin With Simon Rex RWG EP346
Q: How did your career arc from MTV VJ to actor and musician unfold, and what kept you going through the shifts?
I kept following opportunities as they came, took risks on projects I believed in, and treated each shift as a learning experience. A crucial nudge from Gus Van Sant toward acting helped me realize there might be a viable path beyond what I initially pursued, and letting things unfold while staying open allowed momentum to build.
New House Who Dis and Movie Reviews: RWG EP290
Q: What are your thoughts on the home buying process?
It's challenging but worth it, and I reflect on how important it is to save money for a down payment.
