  • listened on the eve of trump’s inauguration

The trump administration has made so many promises that i find terrifying, many in regards to our environmental health and public lands. Not going to lie, i have been pretty morose about what is to come, the episode with the head of the dnr in california that focused on beavers brought me hope. We need to play the long game to support our environment and communities and this episode reminded me of that! Thanks Rewilding, you gave me hope and info when i really needed it!:)

Episode 172: “Homesick for a World Unknown: The Life of George B. Schaller” with Miriam Horn
Q: What's something in the book that most people don't know about George Schaller?
Most readers may not realize how early in his life his father's diplomatic career and the era's political turmoil shaped George; this background influenced his sense of place and resilience, which he carried into his fieldwork and allowed him to navigate dangerous contexts with diplomacy rather than force.
Episode 170: Paul Watson Defending the Southern Ocean with Operation Krill Wars
Q: How is krill wars different or similar to Whale Wars in approach and legal footing?
The approach will be similar in confrontational, attention-getting actions aimed at enforcing or challenging current regulations, but the legal footing will lean on the High Seas Treaty and necessity defenses to justify interventions against what he views as unsustainable quotas and practices.

Q: What kind of techniques are you utilizing for coral restoration?
Coral Vita uses both fragmentation and spawning techniques in their land-based aquaculture parks to grow corals rapidly.

Episode 165: Filming the Elusive El Tigre for “Borderlands Jaguar” with Austin Alvarado
Q: How did photography get started for you?
Austin's curiosity with photography began when he started documenting his experiences while river guiding, using a simple T-Rebel Canon camera, eventually leading him to the film project 'The River and the Wall' which sparked his interest in cinematography.
