  • Retro to the extreme

I found this podcast by accident and have enjoyed it ever since. I love the banter between the 3 hosts, you can tell they enjoy what they do and enjoy each other. Minor issue…someone has a loud keyboard and you can hear them typing sometimes…sorry it just bothers me every time I hear it.

RetroBytes Neo: May 2026
Q: Should the adaptations prioritize faithfulness to the source or a standalone story to bring in audiences?

Q: For those new to Dragon Ball, what is the core setup of the Budokai game and how does it tell the story of the series?
The game follows major battles from the Saiyan Saga through the Cell or Android arcs with a focus on battles rather than full storytelling, using licensed voice work and a condensed set of story beats to frame the fights.
Retrotopia Talks F.E.A.R.
Q: Is Alma's identity clear in the story, or is it confusing?
They acknowledge the story is somewhat disjointed and may be hard to follow, with Alma as a central figure whose appearances drive the atmosphere rather than a tightly linear plot.
Retrotopia Talks F.E.A.R.
Q: What was your weapon loadout?
They discuss varied loadouts, with favorites including shotgun and dual pistols, and talk about PS3's unique weapon, the Watson, while noting the balance between bullet time use and weapon effectiveness.
Retrotopia Talks F.E.A.R.
Q: What is your history with this game?
All three hosts describe playing it across PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 at different times, with mixed nostalgia and newer impressions after replaying; they discuss initial impressions, copy ownership, and how the game felt in hindsight.
