And what did we do with our lives once we retired? Did we do what we thought we would? We did want to get involved in our community. This involvement took an expanded turn with the invention of the Internet and Podcasting. Perhaps your’s will also. I... more
The pause is the thing. The pause gives our mind time to work. It gives us time to think. It calls forth our imagination. We need time to sort through possibilities, thoughts, and values. We need time to find out what we are thinking.

This is my favourite podcast about retirement. Del’s focus is not money but how to make this phase of life meaningful and rewarding. He’s a storyteller & teacher, sharing lessons he has learned in life.

I enjoy the personal antidotes that speak to the soon-to-be retired baby boomer - me. He uses a conversational style that makes me feel I am having a cup of coffee with someone who has some experience with this stage of life.

Retired 5 years - still listening - still learning - still growing - still grateful for this weekly pep talk! Thank you Del - & - by the way - keep speaking political truth - it is appreciated by me more than you could ever imagine !
I’m 77 and look forward to your podcast. Thanks for sharing.
I have enjoyed several of this authors podcasts except for the truly weird far left political comments he constantly injects into his topics. The podcaster is a Marxist who can’t help himself and keeps sabotaging his podcast with truly bizarre political commentary. If he left out his constant political nonsense this would have been an excellent podcast because otherwise he is pleasant to listen to and gives some great information and advice about retirement.
I used to really enjoy this one and still to most of the time, but inevitably a political slant crept in so going to unsubscribe.

This show centers on living well in retirement, exploring purpose, relationships, health, and personal growth rather than solely finances. Frequent themes include meaningful daily routines, social connections, and adapting to aging with curiosity and resilience. Personal storytelling and a calm, reflective tone help listeners imagine a fulfilling retirement, with occasional musings on life philosophy and the evolving meaning of aging. A notable signal is the host's guitar in the background and a consistent emphasis on living with intention, community, and curiosity even as plans shift with time.
A standout element is the long-running focus on life outside money—balancing practical retirement logistics with broader questions about purpose, ... more
