  • Old guard

James Carville and Karl Rove. Both well past it, but I don’t remember Rove delivering so many lies in the bad old days. Maybe the corrosive effects of Trump hit everyone. enjoyed the show.

  • Affable and intelligent

I don’t agree very often with these guys but I do appreciate their informed takes and that they skirt the hellish echo chambers by moving beyond the obvious and diminishing the emotional bs that passes for opinion news these days. Well done!

Polls show a wide-open field with Newsom, Harris, Buttigieg, and others in the mix; structural advantages like South Carolina primary timing could shape early momentum, but predictions remain uncertain.
Gavin Newsom's Stance on 2028 Presidential Race
Q: What do you make of Gavin Newsom's fly-fishing exchange and what it signals for 2028?
Sean Trende suggests Newsom's comments are more about signaling and narrative testing than a guaranteed 2028 run, while the panel discusses the strategic implications for Harris and the broader field.
We've Made A Mistake
Q: Paul, what do you think the Supreme Court will do with the birthright citizenship argument and the executive order challenge?
The court will likely grapple with both the constitutional foundations and the statutes involved, potentially ruling on the limits of executive orders against the framework of existing immigration law while examining the deeper questions about birthright citizenship and congressional intent.
Tuesday's Primary Results
Q: What rights do these movements threaten, and what's the endgame?
Huffman points to threats to church-state separation and rights like voting, framing the fight as protecting democracy rather than theology.

Q: Congressman Huffman, what percentage of lawmakers would you say are Christian Nationalists, and how does that shape governance?
He says it's a spectrum and cautions against overgeneralization, highlighting that the danger lies in highly organized, high-level influence rather than a simple percentage.
