No one likes to criticise books but it feels like we can never really say what we think, that is why this pod is so refreshing (unless of course it’s our book!) but it’s an honest and kind critique of popular books which we all accept is subjective and we all have different likes and dislikes, love the pod, keep it up ladies xx
I’m loving Reading Between Deadlines! It has inspired me to read outside my comfort zone and while I don’t always love the texts, I love hearing Rachael and Anthea’s differing perspectives when discussing the texts. At times it can be reassuring, making you realise you aren’t the only one thinking one way about a book but then other times can challenge to consider alternative views. Engaging, thoughtful, and always fun—highly recommended!
Such a great listen! And I love your different perspectives.
Thanks for the laughs and interesting reviews and takes. Love listening to you two.
I was so pleased to learn that these two amazing Aussie authors Anthea Hodgson and Rachael Johns now have a podcast! Throughout the episode I enjoyed hearing their humour, intelligence, and respect for each other as authors and as friends. As well I loved the format, and scoring system for the book reviewed in their first episode. I can’t wait to hear more from Anthea and Rachael as new episodes are uploaded of “Reading Between Deadlines”. Fabulous podcast!!
