  • Now a former podcast listener

Great host with vast knowledge, but I do not understand why KTRH accepts advertising dollars from a firearms dealer. Surely there are potential advertisers in the world of horticulture.

  • Good listen

All respect to Randy. But can you please update your podcast photo. It’s almost painful to see Randy’s photo.

  • Too many advertisements

Good content with a knowledgeable host who treats callers with respect, but there are too many advertisers and product promotions. Perhaps if there were more callers this wouldn’t be so apparent. I’m taking a break.

  • Don’t waste your time

This guy spends 60-70% of the time trying to sell you something. The amount of advertising compared to useful content is insane. Don’t waste your time.

  • The best for me

Randy was the one person in my Gardening Life that really made me successful with my Garden. I planted veggies each spring and was a wealth of knowledge for my Gardening Skills. We have lost a very good man and every time I he was on the air he taught us something about our garden. Thank God for Randy and let us all pray for his Family with His passing.

How To Build A Flower Bed
Q: I bought an October Glory Maple and found a bore hole; is there anything else I should do besides what I've tried?
The borers need direct assessment; neem is not a fix for borers. There are more potent products for interior application, but opening up the tree and possibly replacing damaged parts may be necessary. If possible, send a photo to evaluate which borer type, and consider early intervention to prevent further damage.
Don't Soil The Soil...
Q: What is the right time to use Trimec/Trimac type products before weeds seed production?
Late January to early February when weeds begin to grow, but before they produce seeds; otherwise wait until early March for spring green up schedules.
Irrigation, Composting & Barricade
Q: What's the best fertilizer for preparing a new lawn?
Use Nitrofoss Imperial for an early green up and ensure good contact with the soil.
Irrigation, Composting & Barricade
Q: Should I plant tomatoes now?
Yes, now is the time to plant tomatoes to get the best harvest before the heat sets in.
The Decaying Disaster
Q: Is it safe to prune oleanders now?
Yes, you can prune them now, but you may want to postpone if you expect freezing temperatures soon.
