  • At last, something worth listening to

In a sea of vexatious and monetising socials this is absolutely a breath of fresh air. Oh why oh why can’t you guys run the country? Your succinct and insightful commenting coupled with self belief is what the country needs. Sadly we don’t get anywhere near this level of honesty or intellect from our plastic politicians and algorithm-obsessed news channels. Keep up the great work, and thank you.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Michael Kempner, founder of MikeWorldWide on the PRmoment podcast
Q: What would you say are the key lessons for someone starting out on their own in PR and scaling a firm?
Tackle risk head-on, be willing to invest in growth, and focus on building a strong, loyal team. The hardest piece is getting people to spend money and take calculated risks; if you can do that, growth follows. Also, don't fear breaking conventional rules when it's ethical and strategic.
Hope&Glory co-founder James Gordon-Macintosh on Nils Leonardgate
Q: How do earned and paid creativity differ, and can they be fairly compared?
They argue that while both aim to build awareness, earned relies on editorial credibility and audience engagement, whereas paid is more about guaranteed reach; attempting a direct, one-to-one comparison oversimplifies the distinct crafts involved.
Hope&Glory co-founder James Gordon-Macintosh on Nils Leonardgate
Q: Why would an ad agency founder criticize PR creativity while launching a PR offer?
The host and guest discuss how incumbents often react to disruptive PR plays by defending existing craft, while recognizing the need for PR to stay innovative and integrated with paid media without losing its editorial edge.
Anouschka Menzies, co-founder of Bacchus PR on the PRmoment Podcast
Q: What specialisms do you have currently at Bacchus?
The most recent development is a requirement for corporate PR and we are also doing a lot of crisis management.
GEO and PR: Golin's Kat Arnull on PR's latest challenge
Q: How have clients' expectations changed for PR firms regarding GEO?
Clients are more interested in understanding how to safeguard their reputations and are very curious about GEO's implications for their PR strategies.
