在上帝的「大戶人家」中，器皿的價值不在於「金、銀」或「木、瓦」的材質，也不在於世界的職稱與財富，而在於我們裡面是否裝載了主。神在每個人生命中放下獨特恩賜，使我們在各樣角色中都能帶出影響力。
成為貴重器皿的關鍵，在於「自潔」。這不是靠自己拼命「洗刷」，而是透過承認需要主，讓神的恩典親自洗淨。自潔的實踐在於辨識內心的驅動力，逃避失控的私慾，並與屬靈同伴一同追求公義、信德、仁愛與和平。當我們脫離卑賤的事，就能成為聖潔，合乎主用，在生活中預備行各樣善事。
