當我們犯錯，世界常告訴我們要更後悔、更努力改變，這是自己的事。但福音卻提醒我們，「解決罪」並不是自己的事，那是耶穌所做的事！所以耶穌邀請我們能做的，不是後悔，而是悔改！「悔改」是讓我們能夠走出自己的黑暗，重新走回到祂的面前。因為耶穌是我們的救主，祂知道我們的罪，並且給我們一條出路。

為什麼我遲遲還沒遇到好對象？為什麼我遲遲等不到升遷的機會？為什麼我的家人遲遲沒有改變？在那些「遲遲」等待的時刻，我們很容易自己想掌控，就會創造出「偶像」。
但有時候我們最大的「偶像」，也可能是那些我們從神領受最大的「祝福」。無論是工作、形象、興趣、金錢，這些都是我們生命中有價值的事，但如果變成我們生命中最重要的事，或是開始用這些事來定義自己的價值，那就會變成「偶像」。或許我們能夠輕易地分辨出要服事神，還是服事魔鬼？但卻很難察覺我們是在服事神，還是服事自己？

我們都曾經失望過，也很容易因為一次的失望，就慢慢拋棄那些其實很有價值的事。我們都喜歡聽神應許的喜樂、榮耀，卻沒那麼期待祂說：在苦難裡，你會生出忍耐。
