  • So good, I’m lost for words!

I absolutely love this show! I look forward to it every week and I get something so meaningful every time I listen! Every guest is an amazing featured guest and just help me be the better parent. I know I can be! One of my favorite episodes was the gentleman who wrote sacred rhythms book, biting the hand that feeds you and so much more on forgetting right now. The most recent one with Dr. Amen is finding its way in the top three for sure! I just feel so grateful and blessed to have this content ... more

  • Great advice, too much talking by Rebecca

Danny gives great advice and is the professional expert and experienced parent. While Rebecca has some good insights and examples/stories, she makes too many random comments and vocalizations while other people are talking (“mmm” and “yeah”). A few vocalizations is natural, but hers are excessive. She is just another parent like we are, not a trained professional. So we want to hear from Danny more.

  • Top parenting podcast

Can’t say enough good things about this podcast. Danny and Rebecca have such compassion, so apparent in their voices, their conversation, the guests they have on. They have practical ideas, compelling wisdom, and some light-hearted moments. Bringing it back to what He promises in His Word has more than once been a conduit of God’s peace flowing in during some really despairing parenting challenges. Thank you, thank you for putting the message of His faithfulness out there for us seeking Him in t... more

  • It’s good to feel seen

Thank you for your recent episode on parenting (and specifically fatherhood) anxiety. Anxiety has played such a strong roll in my story, and I’m thankful for the work God is still doing in my life through shows like yours. Cheers!

Teaching Your Kids To Read The Bible
Q: What are some of the cultural lies that kids absorb today and how can a strong understanding of the Bible help them recognize or challenge those lies?
Mary emphasizes that identity must be rooted in Christ, not achievements, and that teaching kids to view themselves as God's children helps them resist worldly labels. She also highlights the importance of equipping kids to be lights in the world through compassionate, non-judgmental conversations that reflect Christ's love.
Principles Over Prescriptions in Parenting
Q: What are some practical daily rhythms and practices that anchor a Christian home?
Melissa describes five rhythms emphasized by Focus on the Family: reading God's Word together, family prayer, a steadfast identity in Christ, developing a humble heart, and rest/balance, with ongoing daily questions like asking how God's love has been felt today to keep conversations alive.
Uncomfortable Conversations With Your Kids
Q: What should a six-year-old do when obedience only comes with a threat of consequence?
Be faithful and consistent with consequences, acknowledge small signs of positive behavior, and celebrate acts done without prompts to reinforce intrinsic motivation.
Q & A Session
Q: What can we say to a young child who has nightmares and how to help?
Pray with them, acknowledge the spiritual aspect, help rewrite endings of dreams to build neurological pathways toward hope, monitor patterns, and consider environmental factors that may influence dream content.
Q & A Session
Q: How do we support a 12-year-old girl who hates being tall and is being teased by boys?
Validate her feelings, involve school if needed, discuss strengths and opportunities (like sports), and use a voting-circle approach to involve her in decisions while reinforcing her value in God's plan.
