  • Wish I could hear more from guests.

Excellent podcast, covers a wide range of topics with something for every parent in any stage. My only complaint is that out of a 15 minute podcast, only 5 minutes are given to the world-class guests they have on. No offense to the hosts, but I’d rather hear more from the experts you’ve invited.

  • Building up the church by building up the family

My mom listened to Focus on the Family when I was growing up and I remember I liked listening with her, even when I was a rebellious teenager. I am so thankful for all the Biblical insight and practical advice for raising our family to have a Biblical perspective and world view. Thank you for all you do!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jesus Can Handle Tough Questions
Q: If Christianity is the only true religion, why are there so many denominations?
Denominations differ on non-essential practices, but share core beliefs (one God, Jesus as God, resurrection, grace). The discussion emphasizes teaching kids what those essentials are and how to handle differences respectfully.
Jesus Can Handle Tough Questions
Q: Do all religions point to the same truth?
The hosts explain that while there are similarities among religions, the totality of each claim is logically contradictory when taken together, so not all can be true at the same time; this provides a basis for explaining truth claims to children and defending Christianity.
Ask Questions First
Q: What does it take to engage teens with questions instead of doctrine, and how can parents read their child's wiring to pick the right time and place?
The hosts suggest building authentic relationships first, recognizing that different children process differently, and choosing moments when the teen is receptive rather than overloaded, using genuine, curious inquiries rather than gotcha questions.
Ask Questions First
Q: Does that all make sense?
Yes, the line emphasizes confirming understanding and aligning on the approach before diving deeper into relationship-building through questions.
What Does Your Child Believe About Themselves?
Q: How do you manage social media and the voices competing for your kids' attention?
The host and guest discuss delaying exposure, setting boundaries, and maintaining ongoing conversations, emphasizing that parents should actively guide and model faith while listening to their children's own reflections on God's presence.
