Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars from 7 ratings
  • Great, practical, insightful and relevant

I love this podcast because the interviewers get fantastic speakers who might spend an entire lifetime researching a sector and get them to boil down key insights which can then be related to the world of work. Psychology is always cool, but it’s fab to hear it being applied in real life.

Episode 50: Coaching in the outdoor environment – Jonathan Passmore and Ellie Lloyd-Jones explain why it works and how to do it
Q: Could you tell us about the Attention Restoration Theory and why it matters for outdoor coaching?

Episode 53: The new Professional Framework for Workplace Wellbeing, discussed with Dr Rachel Lewis
Q: How is the framework intended to be used in practice, especially for smaller organizations?
The framework is designed with three levels and a modular approach, so even a small organization can begin with a targeted self-assessment, identify gaps, and access only the needed knowledge and skills rather than attempting a full qualification, while still aligning with broader professional standards.
Episode 53: The new Professional Framework for Workplace Wellbeing, discussed with Dr Rachel Lewis
Q: Can you start by telling us what motivated the creation of the framework?
The motivation was that wellbeing spend and focus had grown, yet overall wellbeing was still declining and burnout was rising; there was no shared evidence-based understanding of what good practice looked like, so the framework was created to define knowledge, skills, and activities at every career stage and to unify disciplines.
Episode 51: It’s not just about working longer – Tatiana Rowson discusses her new book on navigating longevity and the age of no retirement
Q: What prompted you and Kelly Sloan to write this book?
Rowson explains that aging, identity in later life, and the changing relationship with work sparked ongoing research and conversations; the book emerged from a collaboration that combined psychology with linguistics to translate theories into practical exercises.
