Think of Christiana as a cross between a messy news anchor and guerilla academic. Each week,... more

  • Essentially listening

Christiana’s odyssey through pop culture is delightful. Each guest different from the last and the ease with which she masterfully manages the conversations is impressive. Most surprising to me is the way in which I end up engrossed in topics I didn’t know I cared about (K-beauty). Christiana is charming and challenging in equal measure and the guests are great too. A podcast that feels like the perfect potion of your favourite dessert, just enough to keep you wanting more.

Why Open Relationships Are More Common Than You Think With Dr. Amy Moors
Q: What policy changes could help normalize non-monogamy and protect families?
Anti-discrimination protections based on relationship structure exist in a few places, with Massachusetts allowing multi-partner domestic partnerships and some job/housing protections; broader policies could extend recognition and benefits to diverse families.
Why Open Relationships Are More Common Than You Think With Dr. Amy Moors
Q: How do people navigate the balance of time and fairness in non-hierarchical non-monogamy?
Non-hierarchical arrangements require extensive communication and ongoing negotiation; many couples work with therapists or professionals to design fair structures and ensure all partners' needs are met.
Why Open Relationships Are More Common Than You Think With Dr. Amy Moors
Q: What does your research say about the quality of relationships in monogamous vs non-monogamous arrangements?
Across 31 studies with about 13,000 non-monogamous and 20,000 monogamous individuals, there were no significant differences in relationship quality, satisfaction, or commitment, suggesting that relationship success is not tied to monogamy status.
Why Open Relationships Are More Common Than You Think With Dr. Amy Moors
Q: Tell me how you got into this work, and what drew you to study non-monogamy?
I study social relationships broadly, and non-monogamy emerged as a real-world manifestation of how people seek companionship beyond the traditional model; it became a central topic because it challenges the prevailing nuclear-family narrative and reveals how culture, biology, and policy intersect in intimate life.
Space Racism & Astrology With Margaret Gaida
Q: How does astrology influence dating culture among millennials and Gen Z?
Astrology has become significant in dating, creating biases against certain zodiac signs, referred to as 'space racism'. This can lead individuals to disregard potential partners based merely on their sun sign rather than a deeper understanding of a person's character.
