  • Juicy gossip and insight!

I am really enjoying Sam and Ann’s show: you feel as if you are getting an insider view of Westminster and they provide good insights into the current atmosphere and the challenges of British politics. I actually feel disappointed when they say “Our alarm has gone off, we have to go”!

I think kier Starmer is not thinking of the voters of the country if you look at polls on Starmer he’s a seat he got worse polling numbers ever Andy burnham should be allowed it find a seat to contest and stand against kier Starmer because Andy burnham the best polling amongst voters

  • This used to be worth listening to until it bias was exposed

These two have turned into a nauseating left wing beating load of nonsense. They come across as the type of person that thinks they are above the rest of us. Sanctimonious labour bashing at its finest. Just looking for chaos so they can feed on the entrails of our country’s instability.

Don’t get me wrong labour have and do make mistakes but there is zero focus on Farage’s gross corruption that is in plain sight. Yet with these so called journalists they are in effect rolling out the red carpe... more

  • Feels staged?

I normally like the politico podcasts but these ones often feel like Anne & Sam are just reading off a piece of paper? Sam a bit more natural but Anne sounds like she needs notes to know what she’s talking about. And the editing is so random. I can’t hear Sam/can hear Anne too loud etc etc I don’t understand why it’s so hard? Really annoying to turn volume up and down

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What will Burnham do on AI?
Q: What are the main political and policy tensions shaping the UK's AI strategy today?
Key tensions include balancing industrial policy with open market dynamics, deciding how aggressive to be with data centers and energy costs, and navigating copyright and data rights in AI models. The discussion also covers the reshaping of Whitehall and the role of the new AI minister and Number 10 task force in coordinating policy.
What will Burnham do on AI?
Q: Where does Britain stand globally on AI, and is the UK more of a front-runner or a follower?
The guests describe the UK as having substantial talent and a strong startup ecosystem, but note that the US and China lead, with UK successes often being acquired by larger American firms. They emphasize current government structure and policy as positive signs, yet caution that strategic clarity and implementation pace will determine whether Britain remains competitive.
Who is Ed Miliband really listening to?
Q: How is Ed Miliband positioned in Burnham's foreign policy trajectory and EU strategy?
Miliband is framed as a central figure in foreign policy engagement, potentially shaping EU policy through new roles and advisory relationships, signaling a shift from previous leadership styles.
Who is Ed Miliband really listening to?
Q: Why is Ed Davey attending the talks virtually, and what does that imply for cross-party dynamics?
Davey attends virtually due to family needs, which underscores the logistical challenges of cross-party engagement and may affect attendance and perceived seriousness of the effort.
Who is Ed Miliband really listening to?
Q: What are the chances that cross-party social care talks will produce concrete policy changes beyond optics?
The hosts suggest there will be little immediate policy shift, with focus mainly on vibes, review progress, and feasibility of implementing a plan, rather than bold reforms right away.
