The incessant background music and the presenter Sascha Sullivan are a turn off, I’m afraid. Her flippancy and lack of understanding of UK politics and assumed centrality of Australian politics to UK politics is just daft. Bring back Aggie Chambre! And also the episode description and content don’t match….

I was sad when Ailbhe left but the show has continued from strength to strength, love the focus on the lives and views of ordinary people across the UK. Most other shows are recorded in ivory towers. Highly recommend.

Fabulous review by Aggie. Thank you. If ever there was a case for joined up thinking this is it. Everyone seems to agree the goal of “reduce crime, safer aspirational society and positive cost benefit position”. So it shouldn’t even be a political question. How about Labour doing something really radical and keep a Tory minister in charge, for continuity, even when Labour take charge. That might focus minds and make sure it’s all in place. more

Thought the focus group episode “revenge of the blob” was interesting and did represent a lot of what I’ve experienced in the civil service. However some of the comments (never seen anyone sacked, there’s a specific knack to succeeding in interviews) are equally applicable to large organisations in the private sector.
